On the Canon XHA1s, there is a Video 2 terminal. The manual says: “To use the VIDEO 2 terminal, connect the camcorder and TV using a BNC cable (commercially available)”.

The camera BNC terminal is different from other BNC connections I’ve seen. It has a center copper pin. The only BNC connector I can find also has a center pin so they can’t mate. I do understand how Male and Female hook-up (Umm….when it comes to cabling, etc.).

Is there a special kind of BNC connector for this terminal?

Thanks for any and all help.

A standard BNC connector fits onto the camera with no problem. It could be a BNC connector wired onto the cable or an RCA to BNC adapter connector.

Have you tried it?

I have some BNC connectors that mate other electronics I have (Radio scanners, etc.) so I assumed that was standard. I spent some time at Fry’s Electronics today and found the same connectors (with center pin). I’ll check Radio Shack. I didn’t think to try the RCA to BNC adapter. I do some more checking and see. But I’ll bet Radio Shack will have the correct BNC connector.

Thanks for responding to my post.

You probably have one with a female end and you need the male. Like the top picture here:
