well this may or may not be a tough question. i was just wondering how you would determine the DoF of a 35mm still or PL mount lens attached to an adapter either using a DoF calculator or a Circle of Confusion chart/wheel. if using a still lens would you select 35mm photographic as your format? what format would you select for a PL mount lens? something 1.78?

thanks.

I'm trying to figure that out myself, but I'm guessing it's safe to use the charts in the back pages of the ASC Manual.... very useful charts, but could they apply to 35mm slr lenses attached to DOF adaptor? I'm thinking it should, because a 35mm film lens at a given focal length and parameters gives a constant DOF regardless of adaptor, slr, PL, FOV. Can anybody correct or confirm my statements?

thanks

I've been told to use the "Film>35mm film" setting on this website:

Depth of Field Table (http://www.dofmaster.com/doftable.html)

But I've never actually tested it to see how accurate it is.
