That won't cost more than an XL-1s?
I'm thinking of selling my XL-1 and moving to full size DVCam camcorders.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi Shlook,
I'm just curious...why do you want to do that?
I have three full size DVC Pro cameras that I rarely use anymore because the XL1 puts out decent video, and it's a lot easier to lug around than a bigger unit.
Also, if you're looking to stay in the price range of the XL1 you wont find much out there.
Having said that....If your heart is set on a low end, full size camcorder, I recommend the Panasonic AJD 215 (it's DVC Pro though, not DVCam).
If you want to stay with a Sony, the DSR 250 might be a good bet.
Good Luck,

Take a look at the latest DV Mag review of the Panasonic DV200, their full-size DV camera built on a DVCPro chassis.
They like it. $5000 body only. Used to be you could get that tiny Fujinon lens (f1.9) and the body for $5000. Might still be some left somewhere.
I played with one at DVExpo in LA and then again at NAB.
In my mind, it is more flexible than the Sony DSR-370 and costs about $4,000 comparing list prices for the bodies.

Why not consider the JVC GY DV500.
It is about 4350 NEW!!! Comes with a lens.
B-stock is even less.
