View Full Version : Here is the pdx10 user's manual
Steve Roffler March 16th, 2004, 07:09 AM Just got my pdx-10. Thanks to all the posters in helping me make up my mind.
I looked everywhere on the internet for the pdx10 manual when I was trying to make up my mind. Couldn't find it so I put a copy in pdf format at this location.

Hope it is helpful.

Juan Parra March 16th, 2004, 02:09 PM Fantastic Steve!
Thanks a lot.
Tom Greever April 23rd, 2004, 06:51 PM I have downloaded the manual, but all I see are the images, no text. In other words, just the graphics: goofy cartoon like... but no accompanying text. Anyone else have this problem?
I really want a copy of the manual. I just bought a PDX10P in China and prefer an English manual.
Tom Greever April 23rd, 2004, 06:55 PM Ok, ok... nevermind. I was opening it in Mac OS X's Preview, and Adobe Acrobat 5 (not reader) and having this problem. On a whim, I opened it in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 and it looks great.
Sorry and Thanks!
Pat Chaney April 25th, 2004, 06:59 PM The PDX10P manual is available as a PDF from http://www.sonybiz.net/ - select Support from the menu and enter the model number.
Tom Greever April 25th, 2004, 08:33 PM Or, to bypass registration, go directly to the download location:

Steve Roffler April 28th, 2004, 09:08 PM wish that I had found that link before scanning all those pages!!
Tommy Haupfear May 9th, 2004, 08:15 PM Steve, I've been there before too. Thanks for taking the time to help out!
BTW - what lens are you using with your 10D?
Steve Roffler May 10th, 2004, 07:03 AM I use the cheap 50 mm f1.8 canon prime. I also have a Tokina AT-x Pro SV 28-70 f2.8 zoom but I find that the 50 mm is usually the one that stays on my camera. I like getting used to a focal distance and zooming with my legs or computer.
I am thinking of getting a wide angle for my 10D but haven't gotten around to it, especially since I just bought my pdx-10.
Shuf Shukur November 8th, 2004, 07:48 AM Just wondering...anyone remember when the PDX10 was first introduced to the market?
Tommy Haupfear November 8th, 2004, 08:13 AM Shuf, I believe it was August 2002 or at least thats when I first heard about it.
B&H has lowered the price of the PDX10 to $1799 USD.
Shufiyan Shukur November 8th, 2004, 07:46 PM Thanks Tommy.
Ignacio Rodriguez February 7th, 2005, 04:54 PM Anybody know where to find the PDX10 service manual?
Boyd Ostroff February 7th, 2005, 05:13 PM I doubt that you'll find it online if that's what you mean. But I suspect you can order it through "PartsPLUS" here: https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/PartsPlus.aspx Search for PDX10 and choose the model you want (PAL I assume?). You will find tons of stuff. Also check out the "exploded views" option. I assume that when you click on the document icon you should see an image, but on my Mac it tries to download a file which it can't open. Maybe it works on a PC?
Ignacio Rodriguez February 7th, 2005, 05:36 PM Actually NTSC.
Lots of parts. But refining the search for "service manual" returns nothing. Strange.
Yes, those exploded views might be what I need. I just want to do some research on opening the lens and cleaning the back of the front element myself.
When clicking on the results an aspx page is generated on the fly with what seems to be an incorrect MIME type. Yes, it might be an image, but it also doesn't display correctly on a PC. My web developer background at work <grin>.
Claudio Fernandez December 5th, 2005, 05:14 AM i have only in french and eanglish but some one have the manual in spanish?? or frome were i can download??
quizas Ignacio sabe algo
Ignacio Rodriguez December 5th, 2005, 08:57 AM Hello Claudio, I don't have it with me right now but I seem to recall my printed manual does not have section in Spanish, thus I doubt there is a downloadable version in Spanish either. But if I can help you out with anything please feel free to ask. I'm posting this in English --since it's the official language here-- and in Spanish for your convenience.
Boyd Ostroff December 5th, 2005, 09:00 AM I'm fairly certain that my camera was shipped with two manuals, and one of them was Spanish. Unfortunately I discarded it...
Claudio Fernandez December 30th, 2005, 12:44 PM have all you a nice year
