I recently sold my PD150 and I'm looking for a vx2000 hopefully with some extras - case, batteries, possibly mic.

Looking in the 1300-1700US range depending on all the variables.

Don't most people sell their 2000/2100 and buy a 150/170? Why did you decide to go the other way?

Yeah thats usually how it works. Mainly a financial reason, and although it makes a small difference, if I find the right vx2000 it will allow room in the budget for a better shotgun mic and a couple other upgrades. In addition, it is our backup to the pd170, so the upgrades will help the end product overall more than a pd150 will.

You mention that a friend has the equipment for sale but you state in your info that "you always take care of your equipment." You are not selling your gear but a friends. How am I to know that he also takes great care? I am just soemwhat curious.

Sorry George for the confusion. I pasted the info from Greg's (the owner) e-mail and didn't edit it properly. Greg takes very good care of his equipment. I've used both cameras recently and can attest to his care. If I had the money, I'd buy this package as it's very reasonable but I just purchased a Sony PD-170 and can't afford it. Greg is a local pro shooter who is downsizing his operation. He asked if I would post this package to the forum. Hope this clears up the confusion. If you are interested, I'll help get you in direct contact with him.

The cameras were recently serviced (papers to prove) and yes, lenses come with the camera, however, not sure which ones. I'll have to ask Greg.

Call 1-800-OK-CANON. I had to buy a plate for mine also. But, beware, the plate comes without any screws or attachment bars. Ask for those separately. I assumed it came with all of that stuff but I got just a bare plate. IIRC, it was a little over 20USD with shipping.

I have a GL-2 with Canon's Wide angle lens, extended 3 year warranty, Canon's 10 watt on camera light, all receipts, original box with all accessories. I have about 30hrs on the camera, it's in perfect condition. I puchased it new in March of 2004, so it's just under a year old. I also have a pelican case that has been cut out to fit camera and wide angle lens.

If you don't find a vx2100 let me know. I would like to get $1600 for the camera, $100 for the wide angle lens, $50 for the light and $75 for the case.

If you are interested, I will take pictures of everything.
