We are shooting a very low budget indie film in the Southern California Area. We are looking for actors. The pay is extremely lousy and your talent needs to be great. But if someone is looking for experience maybe it can be a win win. Just so people know, when I mean low budget; the entire budget is somewhere around $8,000 total.

Man, and here I sit only 4000 miles away in Southern Florida. You may have needed and old cratchity type guy too! Wish I could help.

Up for sale is a brand new, still in the box, Century Optics .7X Wide Angle Lens, model number 0VS-07CV-75. This wide angle converter is fully zoom through and is compatible with the Canon 14X Manual XL Lens.

I will include the wide angle lens and everything that came with the Century Optics factory box. I will also throw in a brand new Century Optics sunshade, model number 0VS-FA95-00, made specifically for Century Optics' .6X and .7X wide angle lens adapters. This sunshade holds one round 4 1/2" filter and provides a very inexpensive way of controlling light without the use of a high-end and costly mattebox.

The .7X wide angle usually goes for $675 while the sunshade is $165. But you can have BOTH brand new, mint condition items for $700 plus shipping.

I would like to buy a used PDX10 camera - the NTSC format.

I live in Williams Lake BC and would like to buy from Canada only due to the savings of duty and other taxes.

My brother and I are aspiring film-makers on a limited spending budget for now. My price range for the camera itself is about $1200 Canadian ($1050+ USD) or a little more pending on accessories. Almost new ones(15-20 hours) are going on E-bay for around $1550 CAD ($1275 USD) so this should be ballpark for one a little more used. I'm not as concerned about cosmetics.

Yes, it works for the GL-1 too. It gives you two XLR jacks, and feeds the audio through the hot shoe on top of the camera.

If you need more specific help, you need to provide us with more information about your project. For example, what is the age range you are looking for, what special skills do they need to have, etc.

Actor's Workshop is always a good start. You'll find people who are truly passionate about this trade. Most of them will work for next to nothing if you have a good project. Again, for most people, it is never about the money; it is always about showing off their talents.

The PDX-10 does NOT have a 16x9 chip; therefore, it does NOT produce "Native" 16x9 images. For $1100-1200, you are going to have a hard time finding a good PDX-10.

Have you thought about getting a Sony PD-100A. You might get it for just $1,000. You then can spend an extra $350 or so on a 16x9 adaptor. Just a suggestion.

This is really just semantics. The chips are not in the 16:9 shape, however they are megapixel. This gives them more than enough resolution to provide the full 480 lines needed for 16:9 without compromising vertical resolution. The XL-2 works the same way.

The Sony HC-1000 uses the same chips and does 16:9 the same way, but it has other compromises which make it more "consumery." The Panasonic GS-400 also has the same chips (or at least the specs are the same) and can produce high quality 16:9. Again, it's a consumer camera without DVCAM, XLR's or some of the other pro features of the PDX-10.

Boyd is quite right; the PDX10 does indeed produce native 16:9 images. Anyone who argues differently simply does not know the camera.

You might have a lot better luck selling it on an INTERNET classifieds forum if you check in now and again (or at least more than every 10 days, I could care less as to how busy you are), list some prices and the condition of the goods. I personally think that if you list it here it should have price that would filter out those who think you're being unrealistic with what you want out of a piece. Saves everyone a lot of heartache.

I am selling one NTSC Panasonic PV GS70 3ccd camera. It works perfectly, and looks like new. I've only owned it for just over a year, and paid about a thousand, but I'm selling it to put some money towards a Sony Fx1.

The camera is a 3CCD miniDV camera, so the colours are terrific, especially for outdoor shooting.

The camera is also very small and user friendly.

It is also capable of taking pictures at a 1.2 megapixel resolution, and also functioning as a web cam. It comes with all original accesories (even the original box and manual), a UV filter, and over a year and a half of a warranty from henrys (which is valid anywhere in North America via your local repair shop, and is completely transferable).

The camera has an abundance of manual controls, as well as a focus ring. It's basically the PVGS65 with a focus ring.

It can be used for pass through to transfer old vhs tapes to digital media, etc.
