I am getting ready to sell my XL2. It has all the papers, reciepts, box, ect. I am not going to be in production for quite a while and it makes no sense to let it sit. It is in perfect condition and will be under warrenty until mid october. Besides that, just email me for pics or if you have any questions at rick@prospectmovie.com ... thanks,

Rick

Panasonic DVC80 has 16 (yes only sixteen) checkable hours.
All original components plus UV Filter. I'm the original owner and I've mostly shot using DV Rack, that is why the hours are very low.

Make me an offer.

George, I have an XL2 and have been considering my options for either selling it, or moving to a Panasonic.

Is your package still for sale?

Ebay doesn't have a shortage of GL1's, you can get a GL1 from Ebay for around $1,000. I just bought one for just over $1,000.

Here are the specs at the manufacturer webpage. http://viewsonic.com/products/desktopdisplays/crtmonitors/aseries/a91f/

I looked up shipping and it's right around $25.00 to ship, so it's not toooo bad. These make a great editing setup!

I've found my XL-2 to be a bit much for my needs. Arthritis says I can't lug such a large camera around all day. I bought this camera February 20,2005 and it has less than 10 tapes used in it. It is in mint condition and never used as a VTR (I have a Sony GV-D1000)

XL-2 and all the original accessories
Anton Bauer Hytron Battery, Titan 70 charger/power supply, and QRXL12 Gold Mount for XL1S and XL2
Mack 2 year extended warranty
Porta Brace CC-210-PW Quick-Draw Professional Camcorder Case
Porta Brace RS-XL2 RAIN SLICKER f/XL-2

First $5,000 takes it. Postal Money Order or PayPal

Edit: I also have a Tiffen UV filter I bought at the same time as the camera. It has been on all the time for lens protection.

I might be able to do $4500.00.

I'm assuming everything (lens, access., bag, etc) are all in mint condition as well?

Dan Mumford
July 28th, 2005, 12:11 PM
Everything has been treated like they were babies, and in perfect condition. Bag looks too new to give the impression of "seasoned pro."

I'm getting ready to take some pics. If you'd like to see them, send me an e-mail.

I could go $4,700

Are you able to provide any other details? What else is included? Extra batteries, shotgun mic, etc?

And posting a price would help!

Notice the other request for a price? hint, hint.

Well, I bought this recently and after numerous tests have simply come to realize that I just can't match the mini35 footage to the material I've already shot as well as I’d like for the film I'm working on, so I’m looking to sell it.

It’s a series 300 with the original XL1 adapter plate and the new XL2 adapter plate, which actually can be used for both the XL1s and the XL2. It also comes with a Nikon mount adapter, a PL mount adapter, an extra set of long carbon fiber extension rods, and the side mount adapter for the Canon B&W viewfinder which is needed for the XL1s but not for the XL2. Everything is in excellent condition and working great.

There is a very slight interference between the front of the camera mounting plate and the adapter plate. This was a consequence of the XL2 dimensions. I spoke with Guy over at ZGC and he explained that they take off it by machining a very small amount of the adapter plate. It’s pretty minor, and I could have done it myself but chose not to until I could use the system for my project. You can connect the camera to the condenser, but the camera mount is off just enough that you can’t screw the base of the camera in. All of this is fairly trivial, but I thought I should mention it. There are several threads related to this issue in the archives.

I shot my tests with the XL2 and it looks fabulous. The depth of field is so awesome, but I just can’t use it. I wish I could justify keeping it, but I’ve still got about 6 - 8 months before I’m done shooting the project I’m on and so it just doesn’t make sense to keep it.

Asking $5000 for everything, $4500 for just mini35 without the Nikon or PL adapters.

You can email me directly at
Matthew@Jewsfortruth.org

If you are local in the LA area, you’re welcome to check it out and I’d be happy to demo it for you.

This was a very sad and hard realization for me to come to, but I really don't use my DVX anymore and have been editing full time professionally now for a while (my first national show airs on TLC in September :) ). Anyways, I've loved using this beauty of a camera and its amazed me since day one. I'm looking for a good home for it and would love to avoid shipping if possible. Here's what the package includes:

~ DVX100a NTSC - 1.5 yrs old with exactly 50 hours logged (never used for capturing and has only seen Sony DV tapes) with all factory extras (wireless remote, strap, boom mic holder, battery charger and factory sized 1600mAH battery). The camera doesn't have a single scratch or blemish on it except for some little rub marks where you attach it to a tripod or steadicam (the mount on my steadicam is to blame).

~ 4 Year Mack camera warranty with 2.5 yrs left and includes a free head cleaning each year (warranty IS transferrable)

~ Panasonic 5400mAH battery (lasts about 6 - 8 hours each charge)

~ Panasonic Brand hard shell case (the yellow thermodyne one, I believe it's waterproof but I never wanted to try :) )

~ Portabrace rainslicker (never was used in the rain but one day the forecast was scattered showers so we wanted to be safe)

~ UV / Haze filter (B+W)

~ Cir. Polarizer filter (B+W)

~ Fish Eye lens I made from posts on dvinfo. Works perfectly for the effect

~ Sun Shade for viewfinder I made from posts on dvinfo, works great!

~ Libec / Bescor M20 fluid head tripod

~ DVX companion DVD

PRICE: $3000

If anyone wants pictures, I'd be glad to take some and post them online here for all to see - this is being sold as a package and I'd prefer not to break any of it up -

Evan C. King
July 28th, 2005, 09:49 PM
I know your selling it as a package but if the buyer doesn't want the pieces or you decide to break it up i'd like to take the 5400mAH battery, the rainslicker, and the Cir. Polarizer.

All I need it for is Photoshop and Final Draft. Doesn't even need to have a built in CD drive (preferably not, cause I want it smaaaaall).

Dylan I'll check what I have at the shop tomorrow. The battery is going to be your largest obstacle as they only last about 12 months of steady use (and I've seen them go as early as 6 months).

Does it matter what screen resolution? Most of the super compact Dells have 800x600 or 1024x768.

Dylan Couper
July 28th, 2005, 11:01 PM
Hey Tommy
Cool, thanks.

The more resolution the better, but I'll take what I can get. I guess I'm looking for one with a battery that has recently been replaced, as I know batteries can be expensive.

I can even do with less RAM. I suppose for the price I want, I'm looking at a 450ghz-900ghz system.

Here is some more info in case anyone has the same questions.

I've had them since winter, so they're a little older than a month. The price I do feel firm about. I did some research around and it's definitely cheaper than what you could get the same monitor for (as far as I could find). They were originally around $250.00 a piece. I'm selling them because I live in a tiny little apartment, I'm going back to school (part 2; for computer science) so I'll be moving a lot, and I'm taking a hiatus from film. I've purchased an LCD to stand in their place; also hopefully bringing my electric bill down. I've been unable to find a full time job since I graduated from College last August, and I just can't afford the want to work in film life. No health insurance, no money, no food, not sure if I can keep the roof over my head lifestyle...

I'm selling a set of Total Training for Adobe Encore DVD 1.5. The training set is in mint condition. I watched the videos and would now like to pass them on to someone else on this forum.

This training set sells for $180 new and around $115 - 135 shipped on ebay, but I am willing to sell the set for $100 shipped in the US. I'm accepting payment via paypal.

I've learned a bunch about Encore with this training set. The set includes 2 video discs with over 5 hours of instruction and a project DVD-ROM for all your project files. It is really well done. It's very easy to follow along and pick up great tips and shortcuts to performing some really professional looking DVDs. You can search the forums here and see what else others have to say about this product.

Here's a link to Total Training's website for more info on this product:
