K. Forman July 18th, 2005, 02:10 PM Just out of curiosity... what cam are you using Jeff? What box did you get?
Jeff Patnaude July 18th, 2005, 02:46 PM Hi Guys,
bought a DVX100a, and the Cavision 3x3 mattbox with a polarizer, ND, some gradients, and a 1/2 Black diffusion.
I purchased the filter kit for a GL2 I borrowed frequently from work. It was time to have my own camera.

Evan C. King July 18th, 2005, 04:51 PM Jonny I just emailed you, let me know.
Matthew Wilson July 18th, 2005, 06:56 PM I just came across a great deal on a Steadicam Flyer and could 't resist, so now I need to sell my five month old Magiqcam IIa which has a two year transferable warranty. It is in excellent condition and I have done a couple of mods that make it much easier to setup. The mods do not affect the warranty (I checked with John before doing them). I replaced the stock Bogen quick release plate with two Bogen macro stages that allow very quick and precise balancing of the camera. I also ran a BNC cable from the top of the sled, through the post, to the bottom where it can easily connect to the monitor. Lastly, I drilled very small holes in the monitor bracket and the battery mount bracket in order to bolt a Nebtek monitor and Cannon battery mount on. I'm keeping my Nebtek monitor.
The system works great. I did have it sent back after the first couple of weeks to get the gimbal fixed. There was a problem from the factory. You can read all about it in the archives here. Since then, everything works very well, but I must admit that I really like the Flyer and just couldn't pass up the deal, so I went for it.
I waited two months for delivery on mine, added about $200 for the macro-stages and paid a bunch of sales tax, so my total cost was over $2,000. I'm looking for reasonable offers.
Vest size is large (I think). I'm 6'3" 230 and it fits me fine and could fit both larger and smaller people easily. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.
I spoke with John last week about upgrading to his newer IIP system and he said that I could do a simple exchange plus $800 and get the newer rig. The newer arm is made to hold more weight and the socket block is a little different.
I am also selling a mini35 setup for the XL2 if anyone is interested. I'll setup a different post for that.
thanks,
Matt
Ray Saavedra July 18th, 2005, 09:06 PM I have one that is less than a year old and have been used once for a wedding. I have everything that it came with including the box. Some accessories has never been used. Give me a holler on what price your willing to pay.

Tommy Haupfear July 19th, 2005, 09:34 PM I lucked up on a GR-DV3000 brand new last week for the wife and now she wants something smaller (so much for bigger is better)! So here is your chance to pick up an amazing MiniDV cam that boasts a F1.2 lens, 1.33MP CCD, and a controversial PROGRESSIVE WIDE MODE (http://robvideo.netfirms.com/progscan.html). The box was still factory sealed as of last week and has only been opened to verify operation.

Juan Parra July 20th, 2005, 05:52 PM The Porta Brace TQ-30 Quick Tripod Case is a 30" long slim-line,
light yet strong case for carrying a tripod with a head and
accessories.
I bought this bag not long ago, but never used it thinking
I was going to travel a lot. So it never happened.
At this moment, I'd rather invest this money on a
lighting kit.

Norman Koyamatsu July 21st, 2005, 10:51 AM I have an XL1S w /lens for sale. It is in "like new" condition, no signs of wear, and I used a dv recorder so the tape was used as a back up(not much rewinding or play). Purchased in 2002 but not many hours and have not had a need for service. It is U.S. purchased and includes the standard accessories (charger, remote, manual, cables and two large batteries). Also includes a Pelican hard case with fitted foam cut out. Planning on traveling and the camera is a little inconvenient due to it's size. Am asking $2000 plus shipping. I also have an MA-100(used once) which I will sell for $50(purchased with the camera), and a Laird CapDV for $300.
Patrick King July 21st, 2005, 11:14 AM Norman,
I'm very interested in the CapDV. Please send the model number and description to pking36330@gmail.com
Thanks
Evan Fisher July 21st, 2005, 11:47 AM Torrey,
They weigh about 65 lbs each. I do not have the original packing materials but I will take them to be properly packed. Shipping is about $85 to where you are. I am selling them as I have upgraded to a Hd system. These monitors are 3 years old and have only been used on 1 professional project. Other than that they have basically been attached to my home computer which has been used to learn Final Cut Pro (I cut my own wedding video) and other than that, basic home computer use. I upgraded as I am using my own system to cut a movie and seeing as how I am being paid to use it, I upgraded to state-of-the-art components. Are they analog or digital? These are CRTs - big heavy workhorses with great color depth and contrast. Yes, monitor cables are included and the cases are (unblemished) white. These monitors have never been moved from my home.
I hope this answers your questions.
Yeong Chia July 21st, 2005, 12:11 PM Now selling at USD6400.00 only. Great condition.
If no money back.
Dinesh Patel July 21st, 2005, 12:56 PM Hi! Do you still have the HDD enclosures for sale? I already have FS-1. Tried two different brand of HDD enclosures but happened to be incompatible with FS-1, one couldn't be recognized by FS-1 even after firmware donwgrade and the other doesn't record clean. Therefore, I'm looking for HDD enclosures which already have been tried with FS-1. If you still have the enclosures and wish to sell, please let me know the models, HDD capacities and price. Many thanks
Michael OKeefe July 21st, 2005, 01:10 PM Your prices for both of these cameras are a little high, as the Xl2 can be purchased for about 500 US dollars less from B&H new (700 Canadian dollars less) than you are asking. Also, the DVX100A is about 70 US dollars cheaper new than your asking price, also from B&H.
Patrick Moreau July 21st, 2005, 05:07 PM I agree that the prices are rather inflated. As a fellow Canadian, I realize we must pay more than Americans for the same product, but we could very likely find these new for the same price in Canada.
Tommy Haupfear July 21st, 2005, 09:23 PM Norman, what lens is included and do you have any pics?
Norman Koyamatsu July 21st, 2005, 09:59 PM The lens is the Canon 16x zoom lens that came standard with the XL1s. I have some pictures but am out of town until Wednesday. I can email you the pictures then. The camera is very clean with no scratches or signs of wear. "Like New". I have always been careful and kept it in the case when it was not being used or in transport.
Adam Rench July 22nd, 2005, 12:05 AM Just a bump here.
However, these videos are great instruction videos. They really explain the basics that would have taken quite a bit of time to learn.
Roze Ann July 22nd, 2005, 12:17 AM Hey Tommy...please email me at "rozejolie@yahoo.com" or call my cell:512-644-4334. I'm very interested in your JVC for sale. Need to finish a Masters' Thesis project, looking for dependable, less expensive camera. Is the warranty transferable? Thanks, God Bless, Roze
p.s. looking to buy now :-)
Christopher Lowden July 22nd, 2005, 12:42 AM With it being summer and all I propose a new price for this great peice of equipment.
From 4600 euros
Now 4000 euros
Bill Porter July 22nd, 2005, 07:32 AM How do you like the 501 head? I've heard it's not as fluid as it should be, and a little jiggly when the fluid is loosened up all the way. Have you used a 503 or higher? If so, how does this compare?
thanks, Geo!
P.S., I checked out some of your site. You've done some really nice stuff, congrats. I watched Broken and was totally impressed, with your work and the acting and color as well.
K. Forman July 22nd, 2005, 07:36 AM Bill- What you have heard about the 501 is correct. Do not use with wimpy legs!
