Greg Wolfinger January 10th, 2005, 12:29 AM William:
I configured my system on store.apple.com a few days ago and it was $2,977 new. So I thought $500 off would be reasonable. I'm not sure if the used system you're speaking of comes with all of the same things my system does so I really can't compare me vs. apple refurbished.
The system will come as factory loaded from Apple. No other software will be included.
If you would like to discuss more about an offer and purchasing the system then please e-mail me.
Thanks.
*EDIT* I just looked at the refurbished computer section of Apple. All I found was a Dual 2.0 Ghz for $2,099. This system has a smaller hard drive, half the ram, slower graphics card w/ less ram, no 802.11G, no bluetooth, no wireless keyboard and mouse. So it's not really the same system at all.
Also, I believe that my computer's 1 Year Apple warranty is still valid even if you change owners....not positive about that....I'll try to look on Apple's site for more info.
Kevin Galliford January 10th, 2005, 07:52 AM Michel,
I may buy the camera from you, I have an auction on ebay that is ending in 3 hours if it sells theres a goodchance I may buy it from you. Just letting you know.

William Velasquez January 10th, 2005, 11:51 AM Greg,
Did you looked at the Mac G5 2.5 Ghz refurbished?
it's a Power Mac G5 DUAL 2.5GHz/ 512MB/ 160GB/ 8x SuperDrive/ PCI-X/ Rad9600XT - Apple Certified
the price is $2,799.00 but remember is a DUAL 2.5 Ghz machine. So to me if you compare this one with yours the price is not much of a difference. btw, your computer is considered used not refurbished by Apple standards.
Anyway, if you can tell me what price you're willing to let it go for I sure would like to find out and possibly buy it from you. Also consider that tomorrow there are new models and faster computers are going to be introduce and that will lower the current prices for the currrent models.
thanks!

Josh Brusin January 10th, 2005, 12:32 PM apple's 1 year warranty applies from date of purchase from apple clearance.
The 2099 model comes spec'd out lower than the 1999 dual 2 since the 1999 version is the older version (at the time top of the line with the extra ram/HD- replaced by the dual 2.5)
also they add product in the AM and generally sell out every day.
G4 ibooks for $699!?

Greg Wolfinger January 10th, 2005, 11:29 PM William:
If you would like to discuss a price for the system please e-mail me. Also, keep in mind that
1) I am willing to negotiate.
2) I think you are failing to take into account that my system has 1GB RAM, 250 GB hard disk, 802.11 g, bluetooth....The 2.5 ghz box does have faster processors but has less RAM, less disk space, no 802.11g, bluetooth.
3) You will have to pay tax if you purchased from Apple which will cost you around $200 (give or take depending).
4) My system is in absolute perfect condition. Although my system might have the title "Used" and not "Apple Refurbished"....I personally would trust my system over any Apple refurbished. I know that it may be easy for me to say that but I'm just trying to show how great of condition the system is in and how much i've babied it.
I hope to see an e-mail from you soon!
Chris Nicholas January 10th, 2005, 11:52 PM sorry the package is all sold! thanks
Michel Brewer January 11th, 2005, 03:37 AM No problems let me know...if you are interested I can send you some screen shots from local news today. I was at the La Conchita mudslides just south of my home and later with sheriffs deputies evacuating a subdivision in Santa Barbara tonight as a favor to the n.d. of the local abc station. I took the vx instead of my xlis because its so portable and the footage I saw tonight they used didnt look bad :) however I would add about another 30 minutes to tape run through it...

Martin Archer-Shee January 11th, 2005, 05:57 AM I wish to sell this and would rather deal here but will shortly move to E-Bay (and close here). Last shot.
Thanks
Martin
Chris Fonke January 11th, 2005, 06:16 AM I'm strongly considering this camra Rob.....don't do ebay just yet. I've just got a bit more research to do.
I'm working on a video history project and am trying to find the camera I want to use + the accessories I'll need:
I had thought of getting a GL1, but am probably going with a GL2 because it's the current model. but like I said, the key focus for me is just figuring out the accessories I need (ie, mic, xlr adapter, tripod, etc).
There's another GL2 for sale as well I'm considering. I will hopefully have an answer for you tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks,
Chris
Chris Fonke January 11th, 2005, 06:18 AM Rus,
I am afraid I don't know what "Dead Mint Cond" means in relation to "Mint Cond"?
coming from an ebay background, Dead always means bad. From the price, i know here it doesn't----just trying to clarify.
Sorry for my ignorance.

By all means, no, it doesn't mean a bad thing. I wasn't aware of the term "dead mint" having a negative connotation to it.

Tony Roulston January 11th, 2005, 11:49 PM Having shot 4 hours of tape and being very happy with the camera I find myself in the position of putting it on the market if any one is interested in making an offer.
No problem with this camera, just an asset conflict that requires that something has to go, my U/Water still gear or a HDV camera that still needs a housing yet to become available. (March is suspected due date)
Prefer a domestic (aussie) sale, but whatever?
Camera is in mint condition, storm case, spare bat and charger, sony light etc. Original box has been recycled.
Receipts available upon request.
Regards, Tony
Jimmy Diebold January 12th, 2005, 01:29 AM ...and I will be using it this Saturday for a one day night shoot. After that I'm done and looking to sell it for a good used price.
This is the only 3-chip with nightvision. Not to mention it's great reviews on image control for a camera in it's range. You guys can do the research. I'm just here to announce a Sale.
A yet to be used Panasonic DVC30. With all original packaging parts and accesories in Fab condition. After my shoot I will update anything new or drastic changes about the camera. I reiterate this is the first and only use of the camera. Practicly brand new, I'll throw my fingerprints in for FREE.
P.S. I'm loving the camera already and debating whether I should keep it.
Backstory - This project I'm shooting requires nightvision on a 3-chip camera. This model is the only one. I couldn't find it for rent anywhere and needed it right away. So i had to buy it brand new (just today) and I intend to sell it so that I can keep shooting more portfolio projects. Congrats to those searching everywhere for a used DVC30. Mine's on the Market!!
Goodluck to all dv buyers,
Jimmy

Zack Birlew January 12th, 2005, 11:12 AM Gosh darnit, my mother and siblings just went on a trip to Australia last week! That would have been great if they brought back an FX1 instead of the dinky t-shirts they did bring =P. Oh well. =)
