I bought this 58mm screw on lens in January from B&H when putting my new PD170 package together. I have since found a deal on a Century Optics bayonet mount lens so the Sony is now for sale.

The lens has been on my camera once for a few test shots only and is flawless in condition. Includes Sony lens pouch, front and rear lens covers.

Sells for $249.95 at:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=200953&is=REG

I'll ship it to a US address insured and well packaged for $185 firm.

Thanks guys for your input- B&H i do agree offers great service but i'm not entirely convinced that the added costs of goods shipped to canada- esp single orders and not in bulk is worth the import taxes etc

Lorne Laplen looks good altho from their webpage i don't see the Rode brand being advertised - i'll be giving them a call tho to see if they may have any other selections besides those on their website

Is the Lightwave Mini-Mount the fixed diameter type (specifically made for the XL-1(S) mic) or is it the one with the adjustable clamp that will hold various diameters of mics?

You should only have to pay PST/GST when it reaches the border, just like if you bought it here. Some shipping companies charge a brokerage fee, depending on what rate of shipping you choose. If you want to order from B&H, there are plenty of us Canucks here who will talk you through it. It's pretty painless. And with our dollar kicking ass against the USD, it's a pretty viable option.

Hi All,

I have something interesting for sale here. It's a Curtis Combo Matte Box with 58mm threads. Basically, this has a tray that holds 5 filters, and then you screw the whole contraption onto the end of the camera in place of your normal lens hood. It also rotates, so you can adjust any of the gradient filters along any angle.

Here's what it comes with:

*2 rotating Matte Boxes with filter trays and 58mm threads. One of the filter trays has a slight crack in the bottom, which in no way affects its usuability.

*2 55-58mm step up rings.

*2 52-58mm step up rings

*3 B50-58mm step ups in various lengths

*1 Coated +10 macro lens

*3 Kalt macro lenses, No 1, 2, and 4

*13 black masks of various shapes

*8 oval color gel filters

*9 neutral density filters

*9 black oval filters

*12 brown vignette filters

*6 color gel uncut filters

*5 colored gel vignette filters

*a bunch of gradient filters of different colors

*1 star filter

*a few different diffusion filters

*a whole bunch of DIY filters, which consist of two pieces of glass/plastic that snap together, allowing you to put whatever you want in between (i.e., black pantyhose, vaseline, different mattes, etc).

*a book describing how to use the matte box properly.

There are more filters, too, but I don't know how to describe some of them.

Pictures of most of this stuff can be seen at http://www.hondance.com/mattebox.htm

My price for all of this: $150 shipped! PayPal accepted, as well as personal checks (I'll wait until they clear to ship, though).

Any questions can be sent to ryan at 37point5.com.

Thanks!
Ryan

My fiance and I are starting a business and have done a lot of pricing. You can buy a brand new GL2 from an authorized dealer for about $1800 with the factory rebate. We just bought one MINT for under $1500.
Just my observation. We love the GL2 by the way.

Hello everybody

I recently got a century precision optics 16X9 widescreen adapter in a package I bought and I don't think I will need it enough to keep it around right now. So I have decided to sell it to help offset the cost of the package.

With that being said, I have not used the lens myself but upon inspection, I can tell that the glass is very clean. It is the bayonet mount, which holds firmly to the camera, and comes with the front cap as well as a carrying case.

You can find the product for sale at BH today for 750US
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=212878&is=REG

I am looking for 500US shipped with insurance anywhere in North America. As I am located in Canada, that means no taxes regardless of where it is shipped if within NA. You can find more detialed information from centurt's website and I can try to answer any questions you may have.

The biggest factor I thought would be the zoom capability. It appears as though there is a slight vignetting ONLY at maximum wide end, and the vignetting is so slight that it would take up roughly half of the tv safe (not titel safe which is larger, i believe) area.

I can be reached at home at 905.935.7713 or p.moreau@sympatico.ca

Thanks

Do you have any specs on the Remote head? Max vertical tilt and horizontal tilt. Speed etc?

Scott Lancaster
March 24th, 2005, 02:13 PM
I don't have those answers for you off the top of my head, I will go home tonight and try to get that info... I just remember that it had at least 180 degree horizontal pan... not sure about vertical, it was always enough though... and I used it with a heavy XL1 which pushed it's weight limits, but worked fine. It also has a rocker switch for pressure sensitive zooming, just like your camera would have. You can pan tilt, zoom, start/stop recording, "wake up" the camera... that's all I remember right now... Hope that helps.
