Ok - so the short that a lot of people have been waiting for is finally out.

The trailer's been out for a while - but here's the first five minutes as a teaser - and hopefully a way to entice people to buy the dvd.

and it has what many consider to be up there with the best cinematography of the DVX100 stuff anywhere to date.

p.s. I'm posting this in film look because of the heavy usage of coloured filters 16x9 anamorphic and 6x6 matte box etc etc for a very filmic look

Did you use the P+S Technik Mini35 on your film?

since this isn't really for broadcast or theatrical.
but anyway - no we did not use a P+S technik adapter - the reason I posted in the film look forum is because of the many compliments we'd received on the look of the project.

I figured people would be interested.

a bit of communications problem. The subtitle of the forum does
suggest TV broadcast and movie theatres, but it doesn't actually
say so. If you put it up on the web it is being "broadcasted" as
well. It was moved (not by me) because this is the forum to
showcase your work.

I thought it looked really great (although the characters could
probably have used a bit more fill light / bounce) and I loved
what you guys did with the titles. That looked very original to
me.

glad you liked the titles bit...that was one of the few bits that I did by hand (meaning the post production supervisor/editor) did the rest.

Interestingly (or perhaps interestingly to some) the entire first five minutes of this film that you can see on the teaser does not use a single light.

in the gym this was by design - outside by luck since we had some sun streaking across - but basically this is 100% natural light.

you're right about the fills of course - in retrospect a tiny bit more contrast would have been nice but we're still very happy with it.

This is pretty awesome. It's really convinced me to get a DVX100a as soon as I can, assuming that the new XL2 doesnt nab my interest first.

I think the DVX100A has to be the camera of choice for everyone in the DV budget range...

I'm glad you liked the footage...DVD's are still available...
