Price and availability

Matrox MXO2 Mini is priced at $449 US (₤338, €382) and Matrox MXO2 Mini with the MAX option is priced at $849 US (₤644, €758) not including local taxes. Each MXO2 Mini comes with the customer’s choice of either an ExpressCard /34 laptop adapter or a PCIe desktop adapter. Additional adapters may be purchased separately. The products will be available in May 2009 through a worldwide network of authorized dealers.

This sounds like a great deal! This unit looks small as well. I was just wandering about power option- which none of the brochures stated, which is if it is possible to power it with some sort of battery supply, when you are off the electric grid.

Although it doesn't specify the voltage, the power connector is low-voltage, which means it is almost certainly able to accept battery power. That type of connector isn't used in line voltage applications, as it isn't safe for higher voltages.

This could save a ton of cash for those for those considering the Intensity Pro inside a Magma Expressbox option. But hopefully you can work with Cineform with this box, it'll be a shame if this doesn't support compressed or uncompressed 4:2:2 chroma.
