Dylan Couper February 19th, 2004, 12:17 PM Congrats Dan!
Will it be online for us to watch?
Dan Holly February 19th, 2004, 12:49 PM I'm in the process of moving, and I have a business trip to Fairbanks Friday to Monday ( I leave in the morning)....so it will be slow coming.....more like next week sometime.
Any suggestions on how to keep my cross fades from looking like crap on the web?
In this short, I could easily be called the "cross fade king". <;~)
Dan Holly February 24th, 2004, 02:41 PM Does anyone have the capasity to host a 40 meg file for download ?
Marty Martin February 24th, 2004, 02:45 PM Go to www.50megs.com
Kevin Maistros March 2nd, 2004, 08:07 AM Congratulations on winning.
Don't go to 50megs.com, the bandwidth will run out in a second with a file that size.
I can host it for you, I have unmetered bandwidth.

Kevin Maistros March 3rd, 2004, 06:33 AM http://www.rollingedits.com/edit_uploads/PAR-1.wmv
If it blocks the remote link, go to www.rollingedits.com/edit_uploads/ and hit crtl+f and type in PAR-1.wmv and then click it or download it.. it will work from there.
Brian Huey March 4th, 2004, 01:18 AM Right Click and Save As (http://www.rollingedits.com/edit_uploads/PAR-1.wmv)
*edit
Couldn't get any link to work but got this message:
"We are currently in the process of moving to a faster, more reliable server, and to do so we have to transfer all of the data from this server to the new one. This requires a lot of resources, bandwidth in particular.
So sometime today or tonight (Wednesday March 3rd) we will be suspending edit uploading and downloading. It will at most be 2-3 days when it will be restored. We're sorry for the inconvenience but we are in dire need of all the bandwidth we can get to make the move go smoothly.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support!"
So it should be back up in a day or two.
Cheers,
Brian

Brian Huey March 8th, 2004, 12:01 AM Dan,
Is there suppose to be audio with the video because I'm not getting any.
The footage sure made me homesick for good ol' Anchorage! But I should be moving back in a month or so and I'll be able to catch the last of the snow.
Cheers,
Brian

I started watching it, and got no audio.
Then I realized the audio on my computer wasn't working. So I fixed it, and wen't back and started watching your movie again, but still no audio. Glad it wasn't just me!
What's up with the audio? I'll wait to watch the whole thing once I find out.
John Gaspain March 8th, 2004, 03:37 AM no audio here either
Dan Holly March 8th, 2004, 11:33 AM It is a silent film.
We had to re-shoot mostly everything because my sound gear froze up @ ~10 degrees.
So, this was an excercise in story telling with no sound.

While it is really nice to watch, it's is BEGGING for a musical score!!!
Listen, you can hear it...
s c o r e m e . . .
s c o r e m e e e e . . . .
The proper music would make it great. I think for what you have invested in it already, you should find a musician to do it, or at least look for a good piece of classical music that would suit it (probably with some editing to match it).
Dan Holly March 9th, 2004, 12:10 AM Duly noted.....thanks

Brian Huey March 17th, 2004, 04:37 PM Dylan was spot on, the silence is akward, almost an akward silence as it were...
If you do decide to score it or add some classical music and reedit I'd recommend trying to use less dissolves. I just put together a little video basically touring somefriends house (I'll try and get it posted later today) and the first edit I did before getting music from one of the house dwellers. It sucked trying to edit it! And then when he did get me the music and I put it to the video it didn't seem to fit quite right. So I scrapped the edit and quickly went through it again and it went much smoother.
Is there going to be another contest anytime soon up there? I'd love to get involved in the next one if I'm around.
Cheers,
Brian
Dan Holly March 19th, 2004, 02:33 PM Brian,
Look me up in the Anchorage directory and shoot me a call sometime (didn't want to post my # here for those data miners out there =). I'm usually home after 6pm until the weather breaks anyway. During the summer I'm out at my cabin from Friday evening until Sunday.....and or out fishing.
Rgds.,
Dan
