You can buy that adapter from the DVshop for 16.00 canadian. I could get it and put it in the mail. It's 12" but you can shorten it

I live in Barrie and I'm in TO every week.
a. i could pick it up and mail it
b. Terry could mail it to Frank
c. I could eat carrots for a week and solder one up for him. (Carrots are good for the peepers)

Bringing a 9.50 part in from the US will cost about $12 shipping by USPS parcel post, $5 brokerage. After landing the part it will have cost Frank $33.38 canadian. B&H want $19 for express post.

What do they teach you in film school anyway :))))

Bryan, thanks. I forgot about dvshop. I actually have a list of things to get, and nothing on my list can be found in Vancouver. Thanks for the offer, but I should be able to handle it. (I think I mentioned the 2 problems I had from that other place.) Lornes' in Vancouver actually has one thing I want, in way of an audio part, but if the T.O. shop has everything, then I find that easier.

Check this out: ($18)

XLR-DV female XLR to stereo mini adapter cable. No DC filtering, just a straight thru connection. Okay for some digital camcorders, but not all of them. (Many Canon and Panasonics are okay with cable.) Specially re-wired so that a single mono XLR mic will record on left/right camcorder channels in phase. Note that many "off-the-shelf" adapter cables are wired for stereo XLR, and when used with a mono mic, left and right audio will be out of phase and may cause problems in post.

The Hosa adapters work just fine, off the shelf.
