A friend of mine asked me if there were any good "uprights," with 24P, 16:9, OIS, high resolution and good in low light. I told him, "There aren't any." Did I miss something?

Did I miss something? Alex Taylor February 17th, 2004, 11:43 PM Uprights? Dave Largent February 17th, 2004, 11:55 PM I think he means a form factor like the Canon ZRs. Adrian Douglas February 18th, 2004, 12:04 AM Tell 'im 'es dreamin'...yep, dreamin'. Frank Granovski February 18th, 2004, 01:53 AM Yes, the upright format like an Optura 300. I didn't tell him he was dreamin', just, "There aren't any." He was also thinking of getting a higher-end Pana HD thingy. I know, I know..., that's a lot of money but he clears 22 grand a month. Bill Pryor February 18th, 2004, 02:06 PM For 22 big ones a month, he ought to get a Cinealta and hire a cameraman to carry it. Joe Carney February 19th, 2004, 11:41 AM Don't buy anything until after NAB. It's too close. Shawn Mielke February 19th, 2004, 02:01 PM What a hilarious combination. Matchbox, 24p, HD...I guess it could happen. How 'bout a PDX10 or DVX100, and put it on a tripod? Frank Granovski February 19th, 2004, 07:27 PM He's got 2 VX2000's, the latest Canon digicamera with lenses, tons of the latest MAC stuff and he just bought an AVID editing studio (which includes storage and 3 monitors). He wants to buy a Pana HD but also a small hand-held cam---with those features I mentioned. |
