I'm not planning on flying anywhere anytime soon. Not on a commercial airline anyway. But I've just been wondering...Is there a chance that your camera could be harmed by the X-rays that your carry on luggage is run through?

In a nutshell...no.

You can also do a search on an article Dr. Peter Utz wrote about this.

Your camera and DV tapes will be fine, it's only highspeed(1600ASA+) the is a problem.

I travelled for 3 months while my stuff was moving to NZ. Nothing harmed, but everytime my lowepro backpack with GL2 and lenses went through the Xray, I was always stopped and inspected. Too bad canon made it look like a gun........ :)

Wow... Joe, that must be harsh. I just got a new GL2 and probably will be using to travel sometime in the near future -- what you just mentioned just gave me a crazy thought. :-)
