I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this in or not.
I have been thinking about creating a short "clip" of my company's Logo, like the ones you see at the beginning of movies.
Like PIXAR or SKG or whatever.
What programs should I be looking at to create something like this? How steep is the learning curve?

Everything to some degree is now made in a 3D app, so it's good that you learn at least one. Me personally I'd recommend 3D Studios Max to anyone and everyone, there's a few free ones, and some cheap ones like Truespace 6.6 that are a great bang for your buck.

Or, for 2D only animation, use Flash.

It totally completely depends on what your logo looks like. Some
are simple text animations that a text plugin in an NLE with some
filters might handle. Others are handdrawn and scanned in. Some
are pieces of film with some effects over it. Others are handdrawn
in a 2D package or completely created in a 3D application.
It all depends on the logo, material already available and how it
must animate.
