Hey guys,
Does anyone else besides me ever hit the white balance button when trying to go into standby. I mean if I really think about it's not a problem but it sure seems like a bad place for it. I've tried to come up with some kind of reminder (like red tape or something) but wondering if anyone else might have a better solution.
TIA,
Randy

Here is the answer! Just pick up the canon remote control that snapilly attaches to the pan bar of your tripod. The controller accesses the 5 zoom speeds of your standard lens with wonderful precision and also controls focus, quite useless however, as well as the much used start/stop and finally, standby.

An excellent tool.

Thanks Jimmy, actually I have a Zoom Comander II (I never realized how much that sounded like a kids action toy before just typing it) that I use when I use a tripod, it's the off the shoulder times that I do it....no big deal I just feel so stupid whenever I have done it ... I guess I was hoping someone else was as dumb as me and had an easy solution : )

Guilty!

My only solution is to pay more attention to what I'm doing. :)

I usually just turn the camera off instead of using standby.

The standby button has a bump in the center of it and is a bit larger to give some tactile feedback - and that may work for folks with sensitive finger tips.

Some folks have been known to glue small rubber donuts around buttons to prevent accidental pressing. Perhaps not a geat idea if under warranty though.

Other than that it is practice to build the right habits with your fingers.
