Does anyone know if B&H will adjust some price down if you can prove that a non-gray goods shop has a better price on a product they also sell?

I have read from people getting a price reduction if immediately following a purchase they did B&H lowered that specific price, but I don't know what's their policy on other vendors prices.

I heard that if you phone them or e-mail them, they will give you the real, adjusted price.

I actually just e-mailed them for a price on 2 items.

how come your not goin for the AT8415 mount Frank? Do you use/are you getting a beachtek?

Having spent 30G+ at B&H I can tell you they wont lower the price of anything they sell because of an advertised lower price somewhere else- they feel their prices are fair and don't budge- if you saw the operation they have you'd understand their "if u don't buy it- someone else will" attitude.......not necessarily good or bad- that's just the way B&H operates!

I have 2 cop buddies who shop there as well and they've never gotten B&H to lower a price ever!!!

Steve, there's B&H's published prices on their site, and their true price. I've only ordered from B&H a couple of times and I am going with what others have said about this---who order stuff from them all the time.

Bryan Beasleigh found me that mount (and link and mic), and he was also one of the fellows who mentioned about the 2 prices thing at B&H.

well you need a little adapter to fit it into a shoe http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=68160&is=REG the upside of this is that you can use the mount itself on a boom too.

The apex should fit in without any problems, i see it listed as 22mm in diameter and the specs on the at8415 are,

Minimum Microphone Diameter 0.50" (12.7 mm)
Maximum Microphone Diameter 2.13" (54.1 mm)

I just think that being able to use as a boom mount too is a great advantage.

How much is the AT8415 at B&H?

That hot shoe adaptor is made for a hot, hotshoe, is it? ? (I only want to mount the mic there.)

Why is this one better than the one I'm thinking of getting? Is it too big for the Apex 191?

I'm only going to be using it on my hotshow, but sometimes mounted to my tripod/head.

Oh, and I haven't heard back from B&H yet. Perhaps later today. I'm thinking of also picking up the 852, if they have any left. I've always liked that cam once "BB" convinced me to go have a look at one---that Sony TRV38 is nice too, for the money, but not as nice as the 852.

You don't have to buy any other adaptor unlike the AT.

Anyway i'm pretty sure that general concensus is that the AT is a superior mount, it is 49.95 though so it might not be worth it for Frank. It's more adjustable than the Beyer one, not that the Beyer one is bad at all, just that the AT is supposedly better. I'm just passing along what i've read.

I went ahead and ordered that "Beyerdynamic EA86 camera shoe shock mount," since B&H just got back to me today. When I get it, and get the Apex 191 mic (cheap audio solution), I'll give it a test and post my thoughts.
