The Blue Angels are in town this weekend and a Navy pilot friend got me in to see the non-public show today. I shot for several this afternoon with the Z7 and the MRC1 attatched. I was recording in both. When the show was over, I packed the Z7 up and headed out. When I got home about 45 minutes later, I wanted to check some spot footage. When I reached into the camera bag, I immediately noticed that the Z7 was HOT. I pulled it out and flipped out the LCD and got a blank blue screen. The power switch definitely was in the off position. I turned the camera on and got an image. I turned the switch off and still had blue screen. I moved the power switch to VCR and got VCR functions. Turned it off, blue screen. Another shooter was with me and he said I was not turning the switch off. After he played with it a few minutes, he got the same results. It would not turn off. I tried turning off the MRC1 and that had no effect. I decided the only way to kill it was to remove the battery. As soon as I disconnected the MRC1 the whole thing shut down. Why me? Has anyone seen this before? I have only glanced at about 5% of the footage but everything looks good.
