Apart from the discussion of DV tapes, is there anyone knows how to match clean tape to DV tapes? I have seen SONY, Pana, Maxell and Canon clean tapes. Do you guys have any recommendation on clean tape selection?
Thanks

What do you mean by, "how to match clean tape to DV tapes?"

Cleaning cassettes are fairly generic; it shouldn't matter if you use a Sony cleaning cassette with Panasonic tapes or vice versa. There aren't any differences in cleaning cassettes, really. Hope this helps,

But I do see on the Pana cleaning tape, it is labeled as "Dry type". I wonder if there are something you need to take care to mix cleaning tape brand and ordinary DV tapes. I wonder if there is some kind of brand match for the cleaning tape as well.

Well, say if you use Fuji miniDV use a Fuji miniDV cleaning tape, if you're not sure. Now having said that, I used a Canon cleaning tape when I used JVC tape. But the darn JVC tape just kept gumming up my heads. Finally, I cleaned the heads one more time (with the Canon cleaning tape), and went with Fuji only. Since then, about 5 years ago, I never had to touch the Canon cleaning tape ever again (nor any cleaning tape).

The dry on the cleaning tape means you do not wet the cleaning tape before use. The labeling does not refer to the type of lubricant used on recording tapes. This has been discussed at length before and for the complete run down you can do a search.
