I played around with the realtime SD conversion via Firewire ("iLink HDV->DV") and just found that if you do a conversion to SD your timecode will be shifted + 1s04f on the same frame compared to the original HDV timecode.

Just in case anybody uses that feature with a timecode list or EDL ...

First: The Z7 is not guilty at all.

I today found that my capture application HDVSplit produces faulty emedded TC in the m2t files. (see other thread).

After using Vegas Pro 8´s internal Capturing Tool (HDV , DV) I experienced that the timecode is absolutely ok - both in the HDV and the DV file.

Though I like the tool, I´ll abandon HDVSplit from now on from my harddrive...

Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps if anybody is in the same multicam business...
