To chris Hurd and any of the moderators, if you happen to read this:

prehaps opening up a Film makers "diary" forum. were people can keep a continuing log of project they are working on for others to read and be helped by? maybe it's allready here but i might have missed it.

what do ya think?

I always enjoy reading other peoples experinces with film-making so I like the idea.

Are there any sites out there with diarys of film-makers?
I know there's alot of sinlge individuals with diarys, but I was thinking more of a community thing. Where people write and put up pictures of their productions.

Well, what would you think about a dedicated Blog area for members? They could write up their experiences on just about any production, not just indie film. It would not be a forum per se, but of course the discussion boards would be tied to it and the rest of the main site. It's a great idea and I appreciate the suggestion -- thanks Kris & Ronnie,

I think that's a great idea, but I hope its layed out like the current forums are now. It's easy to get around and manage everything you do.

Also, something else to possibly add:

1) I'd like to see a forum on all things "Writing" - television, film and even stories available for adaptation. We've got a lot here, but it all starts on the written page and no one seems to talk much about that - anyone else like to see something?

2) An easier way to upload something to share - like documents, forms, video clips and other related items. I'm always looking to upload something and can't find a place to do it.

For all things writing (movies and TV anyway), go to Wordplay at,
http://www.wordplayer.com.

Blog sounds great! being one of the new guys starting out, the best way i can think (for me) is to read the exsperiances of others, good, and bad. so yeah i would difnatly love to see something like that,

I've always wanted to see a forum on writing in here too, but there doesn't seem to be much interest. Wordplayer.com has great essays and things, but their forums are such a mess it's just too much of a hassle to spend much time in there.

Well, this site's more about the technical aspects of video and digital filmmaking: cameras, NLEs, lights, etc. I would like to see something like a filmmaker's blog, but it should probably focus more on the tech side. It would stay consistent with the site's focus.

Just my thoughts.

I like the idea of a blog too. In fact, we just started a shoot yesterday that will probably last until mid-March and I'd be glad to be one of the people to start it off if it gets implemented.
