I'm trying to get my EX-1 footage to play on the Western Digital TV HD Media Player. It won't recognize the EX-1 file format. What is format conversion, how does it work, and where can I find a product for the Mac (I use FCP)? Right now I'm using Compressor--it takes six hours to render a twenty minute file of EX-1 footage and compresses it down to 2.9G! Will a format converter result in a better/less compressed picture?
MANY thanks for any help!

You should be able to just re-name the files to .m2ts or something similar.
Itīs a great thread on this topic called "the magic box for viewing ex footage" if I remember correctly. Search for it here on the forum. .
Everything is covered in that thread, more or less.
Good luck

Have you done this (renamed file)? I've read and participated in that thread and have yet to figure this "magic" box out.
