I have used my 100u for three years but since yesterday it give me a vertical split screen every time I turn it on, the left half is normal but the right half is redish. Some times it takes about one minute and desapears but sometimes I have to turn it off/on. Could somebody explain me what it is? Could it be fixed? I attached a jpeg still. Thanks

This is not the Split screen error of the early HD100's you're seeing here.
That is a failure of the hardware that you have. Like a bad contact inside which fixes itself after warm up.

Mine did that just before the factory warranty expired.

The CCD block will need to be replaced.

I'm also getting a split screen, thought it's just happened once.

I'm posting these pics because they look different than the others I've seen.

Is this the standard SSE problem or something worse. I'm getting hard pixelation along with the split.

I haven't seen this pixelation in the other pics.
This is a hd110U, without the "A" designator, I've flashed the bios to see if that helps.

The problrm occured after the camera was on for a few minutes but then cleared up and didn't repeat for the rest of the day. About 2 more hours of shooting at two locations, so the camera was switched off at one point and sat for a while...

thats not SSE, that is mostly likely the CCD block going bad, or one of the processing boards :(

I was afraid of that...
Thanks for the info though
