I just sent our web designer a flash video to place on a website. I included in one folder the .swf, the .flv and the player skin. Plus I also added the .fla file, just in case they needed it.

They tell me yes, they can play the movie, but they can't place it on a web page.

Have I missed some element they need?

thx...jw

Have I missed some element they need?A clue? :)

Your web developer should know how to handle embedding an .swf, but apparently they don't. Send them the .html file that was generated by your project and tell them to simply copy that code. Depending on the version of Adobe Flash you have, it may also have generated AC_RunActiveContent.js. Send that as well.

They should be able to just use the flv video file in conjunction with a swf video player such as LongTail Video | Home of the JW Player (http://www.longtailvideo.com/)

He's already provided them with a player.
