I just purchased a Canon ZR45MC as a MiniDV deck for my editing suite, but after playing around with it, I figured that I might want to do some shooting with it as well.

I want to get a wide angle lens for it, but I am not sure what to buy. I have heard pretty bad stories about Opteka (http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=005Pvp).

Any suggestions?

I just went shopping with a friend for something like this. The guys at B&H Photo tried to sell us on a Raynox adapter which was a little less expensive and they felt was just as good for the price point. But my friend was more comfortable getting the Canon lense for her ZR60.

I thought it was decent but it seemed to suck some color from of the image which I wasn't thrilled with. My friend on the other hand is ecstatic with it, she shoots everything in 16:9 with the wide angle lense on.
