I'm gearing up to start doing some weddings with my GL2 and wanted to get some input on Microphones. I've read many posts on this forum regarding the use of shotgun Mics such as the Sennheiser me66, etc. Coming from an audio background, I've often heard that shotgun mics can really reduce sound quality for ambience and sources that are off axis of the main mic pattern. especially in an indoor environment.
All of the above said...I'm considering getting a decent condensor Mic (like maybe a low cost AKG c1000s) mounted on the camera (for music and ambience) and also using a wireless lapel or a direct board feed for getting good dialogue audio.
Probably using a Beachtek adapter to tie this all together. the C1000s does have the option to use a 9 volt battery for phantom and also has an adapter to convert to hypercardiod mode if needed.
Does this seem like a setup that will give decent results?
Thanks for the input.
