hello all,
i wondered if it would be possible to purchase longer leg extensions for my bogen 3001n sticks as they dont reach high enough for me. i noticed that where the lock/release lever is on the legs, is an allen bolt that can be removed and i wondered if i could remove the lowest section of legs and replace them w/ something taller?
if anyone knows if this is possible or can point me in the right direction of a place to buy some it wouold be great, thanks

Jerry,
I've never heard of, or seen, anyone adding sections to their tripod's legs. To my knowledge it's not possible.

It's most typical to place the entire tripod on a platform to get a bit more height. To get much more height you would use a jib arm.

The only Bogen legs I know that can be added to are the 3046. There is a set of extensions that are 19 inches and run about 35 or 40 bucks from B&H. I have a set for one of my 3046 pods and yesterday proved the reason I have them. I needed to shoot over a congregation (2nd cam) and needed all the height I could get so I whipped the legs up to about 108 inches and as a famous cook says "BAM!!!!!" Done. At 89 inches I might have been able to clear the heads of people and gotten a clear shoot of the altar but this way I knew I could.

Well there ya go, Jerry. We've both learned something today! (Although it might not be a solution available to you right now.)

Thanks Don!
