Robert Gliniak December 9th, 2006, 01:48 AM Hi Mike,
What exactly do you have in your set-up? Is it Sd or HD? Any other hardware? I think we can work something out.
Can we communicate outside the forum?
Best !
Kevin Welborn December 10th, 2006, 09:52 AM Please reply with the name and location of a reputable retailer who transfers analog and digital tape to DVD IN THE STATE OF MICH. i want to be able to physically drop off the tapes for protection.
Thanks, Kevin
John Vincent December 11th, 2006, 03:37 PM Thalner Electronics, or TEL, out of Dexter might still do this.
They've been a rep for most of the big companies for years now, and I believe they do tape transfers - if they don't, they may know someone who does. I've done business with them several times before and have never had a problem.
Here's the link: http://www.thalner.com/
Also try Russell Video at: http://www.russellvideo.com/
One of our producers works there and they do good work. They're out of Ann Arbor, Thalner is in Dexter.
Good luck and feel free to pm me -

Walter Berndl December 12th, 2006, 02:16 PM I tried Sony web site but can't find any help there.
Hi Danel
The Sony CCD-VX3 is one the high end Hi8 Sony camcorders that supports RC Timecode and DataCode (Date and Time). The Operation Manual title page contains the following information:
Sony 3-755-638-25 (1)
Video Camera Recorder Hi8 CCD-VX3
Operation Manual
video Hi8 Handycam PRO
c 1992 by Sony Corporation
and can be downloaded from Sony at the following site:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/CCDVX3.pdf
For more links to Sony sites for Operating Instruction Manuals of 26 Sony Hi8 NTSC and PAL Hi8 Camcorders that have the RC Timecode and Data Code Feature go to:
http://www.octochron.com/faqSonyHi8RcTimeCodeDataCode.htm#Definition-of-RC-Timecode
This link includes Sony links to several old Hi8 manuals such as the CCD-TR101, CCD-TR2300, CCD-TR3000, CCD-TR3400, CCD-TR555, CCD-TRV81, CCD-V801 and the CCD-VX3 that are absent from Sony's search engine, but are still on Sony's servers.

Mark Williams December 13th, 2006, 02:30 PM I am looking for some high quality (very smooth/not shaky) royalty-free aerial footage of the N. Georgia Mountains for a low budget project I am working on. I have checked all the big footage suppliers and nothing is to be found. Anyone have any ideas short of hiring a plane or hot air baloon once things green up in the spring and try to do it myself? Looking for about 20-60 seconds.
Thanks,
Eric Darling December 13th, 2006, 03:45 PM Try checking out Oz Publishing's source book for Georgia. Maybe one of the production companies specializing in aerials out of Atlanta will have something for you. http://69.33.187.222/oz_online/oz_gag_search/index.html
Duane Burleson December 13th, 2006, 10:59 PM You may have already thought of this but have you tried the George tourism bureau/department, whatever they call it, I'm sure the state has one.
Duane
Mark Williams December 14th, 2006, 06:37 AM Thanks for your ideas. I'll check them out.

Jacques Mersereau December 14th, 2006, 08:29 AM What exactly are you doing Sir? Transfers of what video format to which
kind of DVD flavor?
Rati Oneli December 14th, 2006, 11:13 AM Were you able to rent the redrock adapter? I am also looking for one. Thanks
Rati Oneli December 14th, 2006, 11:22 AM I live in New York and am desperately looking to rent a M2 adapter for a weekend shoot On December 29th. Would anyone be willing to rent theirs out?

Chris Miller December 16th, 2006, 03:41 PM This includes the morphing effect as shown in this tutorial: http://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_page_wrapper.cgi?forumid=1&page=http://www.creativecow.net/articles/zwar_chris/morph/index.html
And the effect of someone getting run over by a car as discussed in this thread:
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=78597 ...(watch the video posted on page 4 of the thread by member "AndrewKramer" -as that's the quality I'm seeking.
And of course I would provide the footage, and your job is made simple considering it's practically just following tutorials for the morphing effect and replicating the car-run-over effect.
However, I DO need someone who's experienced with AE as I want the effects to come out really good. Also, I would need this completed within a couple days, preferably one day.
I'll be shooting HOPEFULLY tomorrow (sunday) and sending you the footage later Sunday afternoon --so I would want it completed by Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
Compensation is $80 (negotiable) via your preferred method (paypal works for me)
please PM me if interested
thanks!
Torrance Colvin December 17th, 2006, 01:04 AM Need a DC Metro area Vegas Editor for paid editing assignment. Must be proficient with color correcting and know what the scopes are for and how to use them. Audio proficiency would also be nice, but not a requirement.
PM me if interested.
