Hey everyone,

I just finished editing my 2009 demo reel which I hope to be using to get jobs with this summer/fall. I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. Especially what it's missing, or what I should take out because it'd not get me a job or something like that.

I shot this with a dvx, hvx, and hv30. hope you enjoy it!

thanks,

Personally I like it. Has a nice mellow feel to it. Really depends on what potential clients you're trying to reach...

Nice Demo reel. Did you have a fisher dolly with a little arm on it or something similar? It is really nice to add that extra dimension to those dolly shots. I like the B&W stuff.

Yes Justin, I had access to a fisher 10, the addition of the boom really comes in helpful sometimes, I love it!

What kind of work are you hoping to get into? I've found that having specific reels aimed at different types of gigs is handy.

Excellent point Matt!

I've just finished up a snowboarding specific demo ( http://www.davidschuurman.com/snowreel.mov ) and am starting to collect clips for a live event reel (which I'd probably end up using the most).

I liked that snowboard vid a lot. Same mellow feel, was great.

What setup/settings where you using with your HV30?

I use my hv30 bare, or with a homemade 35mm adapter. I usually shoot 24p tv mode shutter 60.
