View Full Version : the future of DV camcorder? Young Lee December 15th, 2003, 11:00 PM http://www.samsung.com/Products/Camcorder/DigitalGadget/Camcorder_DigitalGadget_ITCAM_5_sp.htm Young Lee December 15th, 2003, 11:06 PM And how about this cam? http://www.samsung.com/Products/Camcorder/DuoCam/Camcorder_DuoCam_VP_D5000.htm Frank Granovski December 15th, 2003, 11:43 PM Thanks for these links. I checked the first link, but its coding was so badly bloated, with java script errors, it locked my computer. The first link is about a lowly consumer MPEG4 cam. Whereas DV is capable of 540 lines of playback, MPEG is only capable of 480. Plus MPEG is super-compressed, not a good editing format as DV. Should I dare to attempt the 2nd nonPana link? Naaa. I don't want to reboot my computer. :-) Tommy Haupfear December 16th, 2003, 12:15 AM The second link is the dismal duo cam by Samsung. It has the flipping CCD unit with a 10X optical zoom and DV CCD on one side and a 3X optical zoom 4.1MP CCD on the other. Reviews I've read say its a jack of all trades but a master of none.
