I did a search on this part but cannot find any mention of the part number. Sony sells this adapter as a stand-alone item and I'd like to purchase one.

Can you help?

Mike,

There is no part number that I can see engraved into the XLR box itself and the manual is no help. There's a silver sticker on the underside of the adaptor box with a "lightning bolt" icon. It has the number 3-703-848-01 printed on it in really tiny type. Do you suppose that's the part number for the adaptor box, or maybe the part number of the sticker itself?

The mike says ECM-NV1 which I think is the same as the PD-150. But now you've piqued my curiosity! What do you plan to do with this box? Is it a replacement for a lost/broken one? There was a question awhile back as to whether it would work on the TRV-950 but I don't recall a definitive answer. Aside from any hot shoe issues it seems that the camera firmware would need to support the box since there are some menu options that govern its behavior.

I want to check one out to see if it can be used on other cameras. It was also available, I think, on the PD100.

Once I get a part number I'll contact Sony and ask if I can use it on any smart-shoe camera. Even if some capabilties are not present. XLR and Phantom plugged into the top of my PC110 is very appealing.

The Sony parts number is there--they can tell you the part number, and how much they want for it. Brace yourself!
