just ran into some post in classifieds, where it was stated that PAL version doesn't have frame movie mode.

Is it true?

I'm waiting on my XL1s PAL, and that sounds alarming.

nah! just went to uk canon site, it states frame movie is there at 25 fps. I was breaking swet. :)

I can confirm. I own a PAL XL1S and it comes with all the
buttons and other fine things as the NTSC model. No worries!
The only difference is in:

- Resolution: 720x576 instead of 720x480
- Frames per second: 25 (50i) instead of 30 (60i)
- I also believe PAL black is at 0 IRE instead of NTSC 7.5
- Shutter speeds (at least the low ones) are different.
1/25 instead of 1/30. 1/50 instead of 1/60...

Just got mine today! Hooray!
Camcorder by UPS arrived only at 6:20pm, while accessories from ZGC by fedex at abt 2pm. Got wide lense, MA200, and special dv filter kit, dual charger/battery holder, all things lightwave.
Batteries are charging up for tomorrow lake shooting.
Man I'm itchy!
