Did you know that the largest of the Sony Li-ON batteries in V-Mount is considered a safety hazard and cannot just be taken on a commercial aircraft? Too much Lithium in one container.
The other two, smaller sizes have no problems.

So how large can batteries be before they are considered a

Wow. The world is, indeed, getting ridiculous.
The smaller ones are BPL40 and BPL60, so I guess those would be "safe." All I use are 40s, and I've never had a problem.

It is the amount of Lithium that is the limit. Guess it can really burn and is difficult to extinguish. Bad if it is in the plane in which you are riding.
But it is so nice to run for a full tape with a single battery!
