View Full Version : Shot of the Day James Emory November 21st, 2003, 08:59 PM How Ironic! http://161.58.78.36/asx/temp/dvinfo/IRONIC.asx Chris Hurd November 21st, 2003, 10:10 PM Considering the locale, that thing is very much out of place! James Emory November 21st, 2003, 10:17 PM Yep. Upon entering the lot, I did a double take and said I have got to get this shot. Boyd Ostroff November 22nd, 2003, 09:09 AM When I click on that link nothing happens, I just get an empty browser window (Mac OSX, Internet Explorer). How ironic! ;-) Jeff Donald November 22nd, 2003, 09:22 AM Usual Mac unfriendly site. Either Control click or right Click and select download. It's an avi so you may need a player like MPlayer OS X (available from VersionTracker). Wayne Orr November 22nd, 2003, 06:26 PM Worked fine on my Mac, Boyd, with Windows Media Player 7. Actually, the car in the clip probably belongs to the head of Sav-On Corp, who says they need to emulate the "Wal-Mart" model to stay competitive. That's corporate-speak for "lower wages and eliminate health care." All the while flying an American flag over their stores. Am I bitter? No, I just have to drive by the striking grocery store clerks everyday, which reminds me of the "Wal-Martization" of our country. Hey, I didn't post the clip. Wayne Orr "God is a Comedian playing to an audience that doesn't have a sense of humor." Andrew Petrie November 22nd, 2003, 06:36 PM Are you sure it was legit? An MR2, or Fiero can be made to look just like the lambos. It just doesn't look right to me, it's too short, and a bit boxy to be a lambo... Frank Granovski November 22nd, 2003, 06:37 PM ...that's why one should always use Bill Pryor's disclaimer; which is: Disclaimer: not intended for the ironically challenged. :-) James Emory November 22nd, 2003, 07:53 PM Andrew I wondered the same thing and took a closer look. It had all the emblems and the interior looked authentic. If it's a kit, it's a good one. This is additional footage with a 360 shot. http://161.58.78.36/asx/temp/dvinfo/IRONIC2.asx Don Berube November 22nd, 2003, 08:09 PM Worked fine on my Mac as well. Safari v1.0 and WinDoze Media Player v7.1.3.0267 - don Alex Taylor November 23rd, 2003, 02:13 AM Haha, that's great.. and nice reveal, too! You need some crazy sound effect to really sell it ;) Gary Chavez November 24th, 2003, 05:20 PM wheelbase looks to short. i think it is a very good kitcar. Dan Holly November 26th, 2003, 12:07 PM I was just looking at these and hummer kits last week. It's a kit on a Fiero chassis. (which I wouldn't mind having BTW). As someone mentioned, you can tell by the wheel base hands down. Also, when they start it up, you would be able to tell also <;~) |
