hmmm..

ido alot of shoots where lighting always changes and being even toriented i dont have time to dick around setting upo the white balance at each location.
So i use auto White tracking as i film

anywyas, i found that the only way to get accurate cloour results with next to zero blue/red compensation is to turn off the cam, go to the area of the shoot, then switch it on while pointing at abrighter (whiter) area of the room <as most people do> this gives good results, but sometimes moving from indoors to oudoors fast i dont get the chance to be able to do this, so its running auto al the way...

let me explain a little better...

lens cap OFF, cams turned on and in good light, the tracking is fine and accurate, regardless of the location.

move to a dim area or a brighter area (or an area with a different temperature light, like sulight to neon) and goes a little haywire, It must be either set to manual then BACK to auto, or switched off, then turned back on...

the DVX has a button for WT temps as well as ranges etc... and i can stop for 10 seconds and run the white balance check before filming easily, but with teh MX, i cant...

damn i crap on.. so heres my q..
is there a way, where i can reset the white balance for a new location without having to reset the whole cam?

Sure just put the camera in Manual and set the White Balance manually for that area/scene. Auto Focus still works and you can use the zebra to set iris, shutter speed and db gain.
