Hi guys,
Finally thought i should join the boards, im 19 from kent in the UK and have finally decided after sitting around for a year after school that im going to have a go at making a living out of freelance camerawork.
I have been practicing parkour (freerunning) for like last 4 or 5 years and through this have discovered my love of cameras and filming through making samplers for myself and friends.
My main interests as stated as making sports samplers etc and luckily i have enough contacts to help me build up a base for a showreel so to speak. Another interest is the production of music videos.
Im looking into buying a Mac Pro and trying to decide which camera to invest in, either the JVC GY HM100 0r HM700 as i like the tapeless footage.
I have a fair amount of experience in cameras and filming techniques although looking at topics on this forum not quite as much as you lot haha, but im looking to take part in some courses at the London Academy of Media Film and TV to gain some experience, for example the final cut pro foundation diploma and the film foundation diploma.
Basically any pointers would be greatly appreciated because as much as i know what i want to do, and roughly how to get there alot of you lot have already been through all of it and may have experience in what is best to do.
Thanks Alot
Giles
