Hi, I initially posted in the JVC forums about properly editing a MOD video file in Vegas. MOD files aren't recognized by Vegas but since MOD is basically an MPEG-2 with AC3 audio I simply renamed the file replacing MOD with MPEG.\

So now I have the video clips in Vegas. The problem is that it shows all wrong. The aspect ratio is incorrect, the field order is different, there are interlacing issues. I managed to get the everything sorted out EXCEPT the interlace. I can't seem to fix that.

When I open the modified MOD file in VLC player and choose Deinterlace -> Blend it seems to work fine. But why doesn't it work in Vegas when I chose Blend Fields in the deinterlace option?

I really need to get this sorted out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you've not done so already, the next step would be to change the field order setting in the project properties. If it is "upper", change to "lower", if "lower", change to "upper".

An interlaced frame consists of two interlaced fields, and different video formats start with different fields.

If this doesn't provide a solution: What camera produces "MOD" video? What do the interlace errors you're seeing look like?
