Hi all,
Just wanted to post a clip from a 13 part painting series we just finished for PBS called "Love to Paint with Mimi". This segment explores the life and artistic journey of series host, Mimi Sammis.

Shot with XHA1 at 1080 60i, vividRGB preset. Minor color correction in FCP.

YouTube - Love to Paint with Mimi - excerpt from "All about Mimi" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHx9WnlF29s&feature=channel_page)

(Make sure to turn the HD button on)

Thanks,
Scott

Very Nice!

It doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks for sharing?

Tom

Looks very clean. Congratulations! Did PBS take this for the national feed? If so, that's great to hear after all the posts I've seen here saying that HDV is generally considered unacceptable for HD broadcast.

Hi Bill, Thanks.
This show is distributed to PBS stations through NETA, not through PBS. They have no specific acquisition requirements except that it be at least 1280 x 720 for HD and meet all of the technical video requirements. I ingested the HDV footage through a Miranda box via HDSDI into FCP (Blackmagic card) to ProRes 422, and then mastered to HDCAM for distribution.

Ahh, NETA. I used to work at a PBS station in Ohio and we distributed some stuff through them. Whatever the distribution channel, your video looks great. Good luck with it!
