hello.

i am trying to pick my next camera.

i have it narrowed down to the pd-150 or the dvx-100

one question came up about the dvx-100, i met someone at a local film festival who has the dvx-100 and has done a lot of shooting with it and he said that there is a small issue with the volume of the audio and a mixer had to be used.

half of my shooting will be done semi-stationary and having a mixer hooked up wouldn't be a big deal. but the other half will be done on the run and having a mixer would be a real pain.

can i get some firsthand experience about this issue?

There's no problem with audio levels, and no mixer is necessary.

The only problem with audio levels seems to be headphone volume -- some headphones apparently just aren't loud enough (an impedance problem?) I use Sony MDR-7506's and they're plenty loud. But for those headphones that just don't get loud enough, Radio Shack and Boosteroo sell headphone amplifiers.

thanks. that helps answer a big question i had. for too much of what i want to do, having a mixer in tow would be a pain.

i think i'll probably rent one for a weekend to play with it before i buy one.
