So I was a little upset for the price of the tripod plate not included in the Gy HM 700 . $250 is crazy although I did some research and I think the sony will work.

Including it would add cost to a kit that many people have no use for. My dealer made me a great deal on a kit that included the plate, AB power and Dionic90 with my HD200 purchases last year. Perhaps your dealer can do the same? Perhaps your dealer can do the same? Ditto. My dealer (zgc, on the approved list here), also made a deal with the plate when I bought my GY-HD200. I can't recall if they gave it to me at cost, or if it was part of the package negotiation. Look on the GY-HD list for people who sourced Sony plates at low cost (same mount). Unlike the GY-100's, the camera has clips for the plate installed. Probably prices are lower in US but the difference between JVC and Sony might still remain. I got Sony and it works perfectly |
