Has anyone ever used this before and if so how does it compare to other NLE's?

View Full Version : Cinelerra (the free NLE) Steve Franco November 13th, 2003, 03:08 PM Has anyone ever used this before and if so how does it compare to other NLE's? http://heroines.sourceforge.net/cinelerra.php3 Rob Lohman November 24th, 2003, 06:52 AM It seems to be in heavy development, so it might not be too stable? Other then that try it out and let us know! Scott Osborne November 28th, 2003, 04:08 PM I have played with Cinelerra a little bit. A friend of mine is experimenting with it.. One thing is for sure its really fast. He runs it on a Dual 2gHz Athlon with 5 Athlon Xp2800s for the renderfarm. Version 1.1.8 is certainly a more mature release with a lot of the stability issue removed. I am personally waiting for a few more releases before I give it a try. Hopefully one day it will be a full featured NLE with extensive composting abilitys. That would be great with that and Gimp I will never need to use a Windows PC again Yi Fong Yu April 14th, 2004, 07:39 AM http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 Jim Lafferty April 14th, 2004, 10:46 AM Not yet. I might use it as a Vegas 5 go-between for HD work in the near future. Seems like a lot of work to get up and running, but is very flexible. Network rendering looks like fun :D - jim Yi Fong Yu August 31st, 2004, 08:09 AM http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 anyone have 1st hand experience with this? Rob Lohman August 31st, 2004, 08:20 AM Yi: I've merged two older threads together and added your new thread to the result of the other merge so we can keep Cinelerra talks in one place since there isn't much talk about it at all. Yi Fong Yu August 31st, 2004, 10:32 AM hi rob, i totally forgot i made a post about that already!!! =). i must be getting OLD! |
