do you guys consider this crucial? Im debating whether to stick with the standard 1 year... or get 2. what do you guys think? How many times have you taken advantage of the warrantee?

It's not crucial. I bought it for resale value and because I got a good deal on it. It's a 3 year Mack warranty.

what kind of things are covered in the warrantee? I just think money could be better spent on other things...but then again i dont own a DVX...

Heads are the debateable "weak" spot on the DVC80 and DVX100's.....if you plan on doing allot of work with your camera i think the Mack warranty is well worth it.

Another good idea I heard is to place your cam under your house insurance policy (if I remember correctly!) I don't know the details of how that works out but I'm thinking it would be worth the extra effort should anything bad happen while your away from home. It was suggested by my brother a long time ago but I haven't gotten around to getting more info on that option... :]

Does anyone know how I can get some type of warranty if I never did buy the Mack extended warranty when I purchased my camera? It's already been about 3 months since I"ve had the camera. What can I do at this point? Thanks!
