I shoot musicals, with 3 13" TVs in the control room for the shot director. I would like to shoot 16:9 format, and would like to see that format in its finished appearance rather than stretched out. Is there an adaptor or a way to send the square pixels to the monitors. I am using rca with an s-video adaptor now with 100' cables.

There is a plugin solution called EchoFire.
Basically you can specifiy the output format (cropped to fit, letterboxed...).
It can display waveforms, vectorscope, show color bars, safe title...

Are they actually monitors, or are they TV sets? If using TV sets, have a look at this link (http://209.145.176.7/~090/awh/how2adj.html#5) which tells you how to enter service mode using a remote control. Once there you can adjust the vertical size of the image to the 16:9 proportion. On a monitor there might be a dedicated knob for this (assuming that your monitors don't already have a button for 16:9).
