No.
CNN can afford something a little more serious than a DVX100, believe it or not. <g>

However, I think I saw one in the crowd.

i saw a pd-150 as well
most of the people using 3chippers are probably freelancers trying to get some good footage to sell

I saw both cameras in nice spots to, close up on the door he was coming out of, undoubtably a better shot than from the platform although both appeared to be on monopods quite a bit....

And yeah CNN has better but the PD150 gets used by them a whole lot, and the camera that was in Baghdad at the start of the war for their reporter lives prior to being booted was a xl1....So in the days leading up to the war if you watched cnn liveshots from baghdad it was a 3chip mini dv :)

go figure

I think these were just some indies or private, this wa at the hotel ballroom and yes I'm talking about the guy at the door. Was that the dvx? I switched off before the pd's

In the new Ebay commercial where the wife sings "Do you know the way to San Jose," you get a very quick glimpse of a DVX at the end. Of all the camcorders there are, they chose that one to show. The DVX has unseated the XL1 for the "ubiquitous" crown!

Waiting for Arnold to come out... what's that in the foreground?
That's the Trademark Lens Hood that some people don't care for.
Immediately recognizable.. quite distinctive.. I love it...
I turned mine into a pretty nice 4" filter holder too.

Again with the ubiquitous DVX!

Tonight on Animal Planet, the show "King of the Jungle (http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/koj/koj.html)," a Survivor clone hosted by Jeff Corwin, twelve contestants vie to become a host of a new show through a series of challenges. One test is to see how they do with DV cams out in the bush... you guessed it, they're armed with DVX100's. Doesn't appear to be in 24p mode, though!
