DVD's burned in most desktop computers have varying rates of "readabilty" depending mostly on the player they are played on. Many replicators are using DVD-R's and to make large and small productions runs. If you ask this question on the Apple DVD list you get many suggestions for replicators, but I suggest finding one in your area for your first few projects.
