Does anyone know what software is used to make the type of Quicktime instructional videos that show animated screenshots (teaching how to use software, so showing the moving cursor, menus opening, etc.) with voiceovers?

I know this can be done by simply recording the screen, then adding the voiceover in iMovie or FCP, but I'm hoping there is some push button easy programs out there to do this since some of the people involved wouldn't be familiar with video editing programs.

We have some online services that would benefit from adding these type of instructional videos in Japanese for our customers.

I just got my software from the programmer. We are ready for final beta testing. Our tutorial is the usual web page style. I really want to put our tutorial to Quick Time.

John, you are right on time with this.

I know there are more, but two Shareware programs come to mind, Screen Movie Recorder and ScreenMovie. ScreenMovie seems to work OK. Screen Movie Recorder has proven to be troublesome. You can also use Snapz Pro X, commercial software from Ambrosia. Get the Pro version, it's $50, and does a really nice job. If you purchased a Mac recently, Apple included Snapz in many of the recent OS's. It was the plain version and could be upgraded to Pro.
