Eyeing this monitor but I can't find any reviews:
JVC TM-H1750CGU [url]http://pro.jvc.com/prof/Attributes/...el_id=MDL101336[/url} for use mainly as NLE preview but some field as well.
I edit PC in Vegas with a DVX100 - need very high rez to handle DVX100 in thin mode.

It is certainly a Pro monitor but it seems like a bit of overkill. Not that I wouldn't like to have it on my edit desk but my 14" JVC is entirely adequate.
As long as you are running DV, you don't get any more resolution than DV can deliver. About 500 lines horizontally.
The monitor you mention is good enough for 50 mhz video streams.
Heavy for field use.
You could get a 14" JVC studio and a 8" Sony portable for not too much more $ I'd think.

My previous monitor, Sony 14" Broadcast has 500 line specs but did a poor job of handling DVX100 footage compared to my 32" Sony XBR TV in my living room.
The DVX100 seem to need a solid 550 lines or better to handle it in higher details modes.
Plus, when shooting letterbox, 14" 4:3 screens are not great for catching details in wide shots, IMHO.
