Does anyone out there live near an exotic beach, have a camcorder and tripod and would be willing to get some shots for me? I have a little storyboard I drew with all the camera heights and angles and stuff on it. Thanks in advance Stuart Stephen Henderson August 14th, 2010, 03:05 PM What do you mean by exotic? I live near the Gulf of Mexico, padre island (here is a random image on flickr: South Padre Island Wedding 2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! If anyone has any kind of shoulder mount--Cinevate, Redrock, Zacuto, etc--and is local, please let me know asap. Alternatively, if you know of a good place to rent in nyc that has one, that would be good as well. Thanks! Thanks so much Jordan Frankel 678-485-4772 John Godwin August 17th, 2010, 10:41 AM The producer and I will be arrivng Saturday night for a shoot Sunday-Tuesday. We need someone to work as grip/PA, someone with at least a small amount of experience. I'll be bringing most of the gear, but we'd like to rent some c-stands, flags, sandbags and bounce cards locally, to be picked up and returned by the grip/PA. The work will mostly be interviews inside but there will be some b-roll, inside and exterior. Please reply to this thread and also johngodwin@mindspring.com. Thanks, John Brandon Barnard August 17th, 2010, 10:53 AM I would be interested except that I will already be on set. I sent this post out to a few friends and they know a large amount of the film community out here. Good luck. John Godwin August 17th, 2010, 11:57 AM Thanks, Brandon. John Godwin August 18th, 2010, 08:32 AM This is not a duplicate post, just using my time wisely: The producer and I will be arrivng Sunday August 29th for a shoot Sunday-Tuesday. (I also have a boom to do some light audio work as well) please feel free to email me if you need anything. Taky Cheung August 27th, 2010, 01:15 AM I need an assistant on 9/4/2010 in Chicago for a wedding. It's just an assistant helping me drag my bag and monitor the second cam. Therefore, I am not looking for professional videographer as I won't be able to afford him/her. It'll be only $8 an hour. Lunch and dinner will be provided. I will be shooting with three DSLR (T2i) so my assistant will need to help me monitor the second cam especially on the 12 minutes mark. It would be quite challenging. Ceremony will be in downtown Chicago. Reception will be in Elgin. Or if you know someone in college needs to make a few bucks at weekend, please contact me at taky@lacolor.com. Stuart Graham August 28th, 2010, 04:26 AM Tito Haggardt: well i live on Hawaii but there are not a lot of golden sand and palm tree beaches those are on the other islands. but i could probably do some thing for you. Thanks for recording the footage for me Tito. It looks great! Good job! It's a beautiful island you live on and some of the shots you recorded look like they're straight out of a holiday brochure :) I have all the footage I needed now. Thanks everyone who volunteered help. Steve Bowman August 28th, 2010, 06:45 PM Have a great tropic island - Tonga Locked off for 5 minutes We have been shooting library footage just for green screen use so nice long takes ideal for interview backgrounds. Contact Stocklibrary Australia and will post a demo on line Chris Lognion August 30th, 2010, 10:26 AM WARNING!!!! I previously posted the request based on what I thought was an actual job for a Zoologist in London. I actually went out and shot footage before finding out it was a scam!!! Please don't associate me with the scam. I am leaving this here as a warning to others. If you receive an email about shooting animals for a zoologist in London, take my word for it, don't do it. But this has got me thinking more about sharing footage with fellow videographers across the country or globe. There's got to be a way to do it. Chris Lognion August 30th, 2010, 10:41 AM Kathleen, I have never been to Scotland and it sounds like an interesting project. If you need a DP and cannot find one locally, fly me in from the states and I can deliver what you need. KPMG Top Employer (http://whatmakesatopemployer.ca/topemployer/) Robert Lane September 5th, 2010, 06:36 PM I need help in selecting talent for an upcoming project. It's a simple matter of looking at photos and a video of each of the 7 finalists and then choosing your single favorite and entering that into the poll on the webpage. I could also use some FEMALE feedback as well, so if you know anyone from the "fairer" sex who'd be willing to share a woman's perspective that would be very helpful. Once I get at least 50 people to respond I'll send out a link in email to the webpages setup specifically for this purpose. Thanks to all who choose to help. Jonathan Jones September 5th, 2010, 06:51 PM Do you have an estimated time commitment required to view the videos? IOW, or they shorts, or are they longer form features or documentaries? -Jon Robert Lane September 6th, 2010, 12:17 AM The vids are of the auditioneers (is that even a word?) reading a very short script which lasts no more than a 2 mins. Well, technically the script would have been no more than 45 seconds but because all of the women who were tested do not have on-camera experience they all took longer - and did multiple reads so they could get comfortable with the process. It shouldn't take but 5 minutes or so for the average person to look at the pics and vids and get a gut-level reaction - which is exactly what I'm looking for as feedback. I don't need a thorough, critical review of their performance, just an instinctive "This one did the best..." type of response. You can tell within seconds if someone is appealing to you - or not - on whatever level is important to you, so that's all that I need. Jonathan Jones September 6th, 2010, 12:25 AM Cool deal. I'm game if you still need folks. I'll send you an email. -Jon Andrew Smith September 6th, 2010, 02:43 PM I'm in. Sounds like fun to me. Andrew Martin Guitar September 8th, 2010, 05:53 PM I don't know if it's okay to post this here? Hopefully it's okay. Looked for a specific forum but couldn't find any. We need a DP for Saturday 11th (from 5pm to 10:30pm) shooting an alternate ending for a short film shot with 5Ds. All lights and cameras will be accessible on location. Arri Kit, Kinos, everything needed. Shooting in a house in Beverly Hills. 2 small scenes at night. Micro budget but paid gig... I'm in Glasgow, go a 7d and a 550d, I'll send you a PM with full kit list. James Robert Turchick September 15th, 2010, 05:35 PM Greenscreen setup Near Dublin, OH My client has a couple of talking head interviews to videotape. They need to be done waist-up on a greenscreen with a teleprompter. Lav mic is ok. If you have a shotgun on a boom stand, run that as the second channel. Prefer 1080 30p but can take 720 60p or 30p. Also prefer that files be delivered on hard drive rather than tape. I edit on FCP so ProRes would be ideal. I will take care of keying. These will be intercut with shoots I did here using an HMC-150 so that's the baseline. We used three lights on talent (backlight, fill, and main) If you have access to a pro studio or can rent one, that would be preferred as these are not actors but business owners. Contact me at rob@yipdogstudios.com or through the dvinfo mail for more details. Shoot will need to happen in the next couple of weeks so contact me as soon as possible. Thanks! |
